U. S. Open Tournament
This tournament for the title of open chess championship of the USCF was concluded at Oklahoma City last Saturday. Two tied for top score, 9½-2½; Arthur Bisguier of New York, and James Sherwin of New York. The median system of tie breaking gave the title to Bisguier, who is also United States chess champion. Third place went to Robert Steinmeyer of St. Louis. A 13-year-old Brooklyn player, Bobby Fischer, with four others, was tied for fourth place.
